Cloudmaker Crippler - 8th Aug 2009

Ok, Now things are getting serious. This route is from Carlons Farm, via the firetrail to Medlow Gap, then rough track to the Cox's via Mobbs Soak and Mt Yellow Dog. Then a 4 hr uphill slog to Mt Cloudmaker on footpad. Finally reverse the whole thing back to the cars. 50k, +/- 2000m and 18hrs. Not everyones cup of tea.

David, Melinda, Helen and Karl completed. Starting at 4am and finishing at 10pm, feeling rather weary. Over a "Big Breakfast" at the Megalong Tearooms on Sunday, we have deceided to do a mid week walk to visit Paralyser and Guouogang from Kanangra Walls Road next week.

Angry looking sky as we leave Sydney on the Friday evening.  Fingers and toes crossed that the weather doesn't turn lousy on us tomorrow.

At Mt Yellow Dog, shortly after dawn

Shoe foaming at the mouth after crossing the polluted Coxs River that forms Sydney drinking water supply.  Actually the reason for the foam is a bit of washing powder that didn't get rinsed out in the last cycle
Melinda crossing the Coxs River

How is that for a classic letterbox!
